Wine of the Week | Waltraud 2007 [White] It's been a while since this old favorite has appeared on the page. Surely it's on of Spain's most interesting (and reliable) Rieslings, and one of my personal choices. Excellent with grilled fish as well as spicy asian fare. Nice clean pale straw color. Still a bit tight on the nose, but showing good fruit aromas (pear/citrus) and just beginning to develop the scent of paraffin, so typical of Riesling. On the palate it's crisp, fresh and fruity; slightly spicy, and a touch floral. The finish is long & rich with just bit of sweetness. Very good indeed! [$H] |
