Wine of the Week | Mas Sinén Negre 2004 [Red] A relative newcomer to the Priorato scene, Burgos-Portas wines have shown well from day one. This full bodied red is a blend of Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariñena and Syrah, with a year of ageing in French oak barrels. A superb wine with lots of body, yet it's smooth and ready to drink right now. Deep dark cherry red color. Great nose with lots of well ripened berry/plum fruit, a hint of smokey oak and a nice mineral background. On the palate it's rich and sweet with a pleasant blend of fresh berries (blueberry) and extra-ripe plummy/pruney fruit. Smooth sweet hefty tannins with a great finish. [$H] |
