Wine of the Week | Yasa Blanco 2007 [White] Made from 50+ year-old vines grown in the highest elevations of Spain's Calatayud denomination. While the Macabeo grape is often perceived as a "modest" variety, this is a full flavored white wine with lots of personality. A good match for grilled or Asian-style chicken. A bright lemon/straw color. Nice tropical and tree fruit nose (melon/peach) with a touch of minerals and a hint of spice. The palate's fresh, rich and full of flavor with pears/peaches and an almondy/peppery finish. Very good and a terrific value. [$L] |
