Wine of the Week | Fefiñanes III Año 2003 [White] Bottled after nearly three years aging on the lees in steel tanks, this is an excellent example of the new upmarket aged, but not oaked albariños. A delicious wine that evokes sensations of a good riesling and a fair competitor to another albariño, the well reviewed Selección de AÃñda of Pazo de Señorans. Excellent. A brassy yellow color, but with no sign of oxidation. Great nose, dense and lemony with apple and exotic fruits, plus a hint of dry herbs & parrafin/diesel. The palate's rich and thick with crisp acidity with citrus (lemon/grapefruit), apple and mango. Excellent length and a pleasant, refreshing finish. [$H] |
