Wine of the Week | Palacio de Bornos Verdejo 2007 [White] The 2007 harvest is just behind us, so this is our first look at the new crop the young wines coming down the pike. Palacio de Bornos is a reliable producer and the '07 vintage Verdejo is no exception. Fresh and bright, this is a fine example of a quality Rueda. A wine to enjoy with fish & shellfish. Nice pale straw color, crisp and bright. The nose is vibrant and fresh with a pleasant combination of the typical Vedejo herbaceousness, orange peel and tropical fruits. The palate reflects the nose with crisp acidity, herbs (tarragon/anise), citrus (orange peel/grapefruit) and tropical fruit flavors (lichee/mango). Excellent. [$M] |
