Wine of the Week | José Pariente Verdejo 2006 [White] Summer is white wine time. A crisp fresh Verdejo from Rueda is always a good choice for an afternoon quaff, but with enough flavor and body to go with a meal. This is an excellent food wine which will work well will pasta, rice, fish & shellfish; or even meat or chicken. A nice pale straw color, clean and bright. The nose shows citrus notes (orange peel) and well ripened stone fruit (apricot) with an elegant herb/grassy background. On the palate it's crisp and fresh with ample stone fruit flavors and terrific length. Excellent. [$M] |
