Wine of the Week | Belondrade Y Lurton Verdejo 2005 [White] One of the first "ruedas" made with oak, Belondrade continues to be one of Spain's top white wines, one year after another. The '05 is no exception, an excellent wine showing style and class. A good match for veal or game birds like partridge or duck. A bright golden straw color with a hint of green. Well defined aromas of fruit (pear/mango) over a gently oak infused background. On the palate the fruit and oak are nicely balanced. There's freshness, a rich/thick mouthfeel and terrific length. Excellent. [$H] |
