Wine of the Week | Corpus del Muni 2004 [Red] La Mancha boasts the planet's largest area under vine. Bodegas del Muni makes its wines in the Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla denomination, in the heart of the La Mancha province. This full-bodied oaked red from Tempranillo with a bit of Garnacha and Syrah; it's just the thing for steaks and roasts. Excellent. Nice dark cherry red color with a violet tint. Great nose with red fruit (cherry/strawberry) and a pleasant oaky/smokiness. Lots of up front fresh berry fruit on the palate with silky tannins, balanced acidity and great length. [$M] |
