Wine of the Week | Viñas de Gain 2004 [Red] In recent years this wine has been a solid performer in the mid-price range. The 2004 Rioja vintage has had good press of late and Viñas de Gain shows why. A delicious wine with body that will go well with steak, roasts and (of course) well cured cheeses. Inky dark cherry red color. Great nose with a pleasing blend of toasty oak (peat) and bright, fresh wild berry fruit (blueberry). On the palate it's got good body and crisp acidity with ample fruit and notable tanicity.
