Wine of the Week | Clos Fontá 2004 [Red] The recently released 2004 vintage Priorato reds are looking very good indeed. This is a good example from one of my favorite producers. An excellent wine with plenty of "oomph", that will go well with one of those hearty winter stews. Deep, dark cherry/garnet color. Penetrating aromas of ripe blackberry/cherry fruit and nicely integrated scents of spicy/toasty oak. Full bodied on the palate with lots of everything: good fruit, firm tannins and crisp acidity. Long finish. Excellent wine. [$H] |
