Wine of the Week | Figaro 2004 [Red] Here's another winner from Calatayud. Produced from old vine Garnacha grapes with just a touch of barrel age; this is an excellent value and just the thing for a nice roast or barbecued spare ribs. Medium dark cherry red color. Ripe cherry/berry fruit dominates the nose, followed by a a nice scent of smoke & leather. On the palate it's rich, meaty and fruity with a touch of brushy spice. Good length, very good. [$L] |
