Wine of the Week | Finca Alicia Rojas Reserva 1998 [Red] This is a recently released special selection from one of my favorite Rioja wineries. A full-bodied, fruit-driven Riopa with a modern touch. Mostly Tempranillo with a bit of Garnacha & Mazuelo. A good choice for roasts or steak. Dark bing cherry red color. Aromas show ripe berry fruit [blackberry/blueberry], toasty charcoal and minerals, vanilla, balsamics & spice [clove/vanilla]. The palate's wonderfully rich and long lasting, showing dark cherry/berry fruit, balanced oak & spice. Excellent. [$H] |
