Casa Castillo Monastrell 2023 [Red]
Producer: Casa Castillo
Region: DO Jumilla

Primarily monastrell with a little garnacha in the mix. Organically grown on sandy/rocky soils in the La Valle vineyard. Nurtured for 8/9 months in neutral 500 liter French oak barrels and larger wooden vats.

Earthy aromas (mushrooms), ripe plums & blackberries, sedge/marsh grass & a hint of leather.
Serious body, potent yet refined tannins, balanced acidity, good persistence. One of my personal favorites, excellent value, one of those pleasure driven picnic wines.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
