Montebuena
Wine of the Week

Montebuena 2021 [Red]
Producer: Bodega Manuel Quintano (Solagüen)
Region: DOC Rioja

100% tempranillo, selected from small plots in the higher elevations of Rioja Alavesa. The fermented wine spends 3 to 4 months in mainly French oak barrels before resting in tanks for over a year before bottling.

Nice dark color, spicy cherry/berry fruit aromas dominate with a hint of vanilla and licorice.
Easy drinking, smooth tannins with mature cherry/blueberry fruit and a pleasant finish. Great food wine, good value to boot.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
