Wine of the Week | Loco 2021 [White] 100% garnacha blanca, old vines grown on sandy soils. 24 hour cold maceration, half of the must is fermented in 500 & 700 liter French oak barrels, the remainder in steel tanks on the lees, nurtured in barrel & tank for 8 months, weekly battonage. Attractive, complex aromas: peach/guava, beeswax, dry grass, a touch of smoke and bracing minerality.
Not much garnacha blanca is planted in Méntrida, Canopy was fortunate to find a 65 year old vineyard to source the grapes.
