El Grifo Malvasía Volcánica sobre Lías 2021 [White]
Producer: El Grifo
Region: DO Lanzarote

100% malvasía volcánica grown on small plots on volcanic soils in Tinajo. Chilled and whole bunch pressed, tank fermented, 30% transferred to a 500 liter French oak barrel, the remainder resting on the lees for 7 months, resting another 8-12 months in bottles before release.

Captivating nose of tropical fruit (maracuya/mango), citrus and orange blossoms, with an interesting volcanic mineral undercurrant.
Fresh/crisp on the palate with lovely tropical fruit, citrus & floral flavors, nicely balanced, a pleasure to drink. Excellent stuff.

El Grifo has been making wine since 1775 with spectacular vineyards, planted on the volcanic soils of La Geria.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
