Wine of the Week

Fefiñanes Albariño 2023 [White]
Producer: Palacio de Fefiñanes
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

100% albariño, hand picked, grown on crumbled granite soils in the Val de Salnés sub-region. Fermented in stainless steel, resting several months in tanks before bottling.

Engaging aromas, typical of the grape: lemon/lime, apricot/guava with a floral background and touch of stony salinity.
Bright and fresh with ample fruit flavors (peach/apricot), orange blossoms and fresh herbs, nicely balanced acidity and notable length. A class albariño, excellent. Perfect with oysters and marine crustaceans.

Fefiñanes has been a Rías Baixas pioneer, and the first to bottle albariño in 1928. A longtime favorite of yours truly.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
