Wine of the Week

Burgo Viejo Tinto 2021 [Red]
Producer: Burgo Viejo
Region: DOC Rioja

Classic Rioja blend (85% tempranillo), 10% garnacha, 5% mazuelo), fermented in steel tanks, malolactic in concrete vats. No oak treatment.

Dark in color, medium weight, fruit driven with lush/ripe berries (strawberry/raspberry) and some floral/dry grass scents.
Fruit & super sleek tannins dominate the palate, nicely balanced acidity, a pleasure to drink. Serve cool, not cold, with burgers or ribs. A killer wine for the price, should cellar well for 3 to 4 years.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
