Wine of the Week

Gran Barquero Oloroso [Fortified]
Producer: Pérez Barquero
Region: DO Montilla-Moriles

100% pedro ximénez grapes from Sierra de Montilla y Moriles Altos, nurtured 25+ years in American oak "botas" (500/600 liters).

Lovely mahogany color, clean and subtle on the nose with old oak, beeswax and dried fruit & nuts.
Silky smooth, dry with a hint of sweetness flavorful with excellent structure, well integrated alcohol and supreme length. Excellent!

Great as an aperitif, after dinner digestive, to accompany rich meaty stews, or add a splash to enhance soups & stews.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
