Wine of the Week | Viņa Alberdi 2019 [Red] 100% tempranillo from the winery's clay/limestone vineyards in Rodezno & Labastida. Nurtured one year in new American oak, and a second year in 4 year old barrels. The barrels are made by the winery's own cooperage. Bottled in May 2022. Bright garnet/cherry red color wth generous red berry fruit (cherry/raspberry), gently spiced (cardamom/nutmeg/cinnamon) and beautifully integrated oak components. Smooth, polished tannins and a memorable finish. Excellent stuff. The winery rates the 2019 as one of their best vintages of the century, along with 2001 & 2015. [$M] |
