Wine of the Week | Elo Monastrell 2017 [Red] 100% monastrell grapes from 50 year old vines in the El Alterón vineyard. The altitud (770 meters) dry climate and chalky/stony limestone soils help make this wine special. The fermented wine is nurtured for 12 months in used 500 liter oak barrels, resting another year in concrete tanks before bottling. Bright and fresh with no noticable signs of age, cherry/berry fruit, spice & herbs (thyme, dry flowers, anise). [$M] |
