Wine of the Week | Borsao Barrica 2021 [Red] 60% garnacha, 40% tempranillo, primarily from old bush vines planted on rocky clay/limestone soils in the Moncayo foothills of Aragon. The fermented wine is nurtured for a short time in oak "barricas". A hearty wine with ample fruit (blueberry/blackberry), spice, hints of brushy herbs and a decent dose of oak.
Note:"Cierzo" winds from the nearby Moncayo mountains provide relief from the scorching summer heat, bringing balance & fruity freshness to the grapes. [$L] |
