Wine of the Week | Mestizaje Tinto 2020 [Red] 72% bobal, 17% garnacha, 11% syrah, organically grown on sandy clay/limestone soils at 800 meters above sea level. Nurtured 10 months in a mix of French oak barrels and steel tanks. As a beer commercial of my youth announced: "Light, but not too light; the taste that's right". Berries, heaps of fruit, tarragon, a hint of leather, smooth tannins, fresh acidity. Great stuff, superb value. Estate wine: DOP El Terrerazo. [$L] |
