Wine of the Week | Valsacro 1999 [Red] The recently released 1999 Valsacro is yet another indication of the positive evolution of this Rioja producer [first release 1997]. Less voluptuous that the '97, more elegant and refined with the fruit, body and structure to cellar well. A good match for prime rib. Dark garnet red color. Nose shows cherries and red berry fruit, along with clean oak, fresh cut hay and floral tones. Rich balanced palate; very tasty with smooth tannins and loads of mature berry fruit.Excellent. [$H] |
