Wine of the Week | El Molar 2021 [Red] 100% garnacha organically grown on clay/gravel soils. Some 50% of the grapes are whole bunch fermented with natural yeasts, the other half destemmed. Matured 14 months in neutral French oak (500 liter & foudres). Sweet red berry fruit (cherry/red currant), rose petals, brushy dry herbs (thyme/rosemary) and a hint of fine leather. Excellent work by winemaker José María Vicente. My last bottle, need to restock. [$M] |
