Wine of the Week | Alto de la Estrella 2019 [Red] 100% garnacha from a single vineyard planted in 1961 on slate soils, 1,100 meters above sea level. After an extended fermentation, the wine is transferred to a 2,000 wooden vat, resting there for 14 months before bottling. Ripe red cherries, dried flowers and dusty mountain herbs (thyme/rosemary) with a whisper of earthy minerals. [$H] |
