Bellmunt Red 2018 [Red]

Region: DO Priorat

A blend of mainly garnacha grapes with some cariñena from the estate's younger vines (~25 years), grown on slate soils, nurtured 10 months in a mix of barrels & vats, then rested 12 months in bottle before release.

Cherries & raspberries, rose petals, tea leaves, a hint of stones & smoke.
Fresh & light (for a Priorat) with smooth mature tannins, berries, thyme and black pepper. Good persistence, built for pleasure. Excellent.

A "Vi de Vila" (village wine, municipality of Bellmunt) from one of my favorite Priorat producers. A keeper.
