Wine of the Week | Amaren 60 Malvasía 2019 [White] 100% malvasía riojana, old vines planted in 1912 on clay/limestone soils in Leza (Rioja Alavesa), nurtured on the lees in concrete eggs for 15 months. Golden straw color, great concentration of aromas with dry flowers, pears, cinnamon spice and a subtle mineral background. Malvasía riojana is known by several names: rojal, alarije and others. It is not the same grape as the malvasías grown around the Mediterranean and Canary Islands. [$H] |
