Wine of the Week | Arvum 2017 [Red] 100% "vidau" (older vineyards where multiple grape varieties were planted together), the vines here are 80-120 years old. The blend is 40% tempranillo, 40% garnacha & 20% other. Nurtured 17 months in French & Romanian oak barrels. Deep, dark and serious stuff. Ripe berry/plum fruit, a touch of spice, chocolate and tobacco leaves. Escudero's Cuesta de la Reina vineyard on the slopes of Monte Yerga is one of Rioja's oldest and finest properties. [$H] |
