Wine of the Week | Corcovo Reserva 1997 [Red] Valdepeñas is best known for inexpensive, easy to drink reds. This Corcovo Reserva is not particularly expensive, but reminds us of a more expensive Spanish red from more northerly climes. This crisp and tasty red should be just the thing to go with a standing prime rib of beef. Very good. A bright cherry red color with just a hint of garnet along the edge. A clean, fresh nose of ripe cherries, a touch of spice and minerals. The palate's remarkably clean and bright with fresh ripe cherries, nice acidity and good length. Very good. [$M] |
