Wine of the Week | Xanledo 2019 [Red] 60% Caiño Longo & 40% Brancellao, grown on granite-based soils (sábrego), whole bunch fermented on open-top barrels, nurtured 11 months in French oak. Dark berry fruit and flowers at first sniff, followed by gentle spicy notes (cardamom) and stony minerals. The oak is nicely integrated, a factor not a force. Had the good fortune enjoy this wine with my friend Abraham García at his restaurant, Viridiana. [$H] |
