Wine of the Week | Naiades (magnum) 2011 [White] 100% verdejo from small selected plots, some with vines over 100 years old. Barrel fermented, nurtured on the lees for 7 months with "batonnage". Eye catching golden yellow color. Elegant & complex: minerals, stone fruit, citrus, herbs (tarragon/fennel) with a hint of dry straw. On release some criticized it for excessive oakiness, but now it's all in balance. Pure pleasure in a glass. [$H] |
