Wine of the Week | José Pariente Verdejo FB 2018 [White] 100% verdejo, organically grown; fermented in French oak barrels (225 & 500 liters), resting 10 months on the lees with "batonnage" (stirring the lees). Some upfront oak at first whiff which soon merges into the background: toast, cinnamon, citrus, orange peel, green apple and herbs (fennel). José Pariente is a class Rueda producer and one of my personal favorites. [$M] |
