Wine of the Week | Alonso del Yerro 2016 [Red] 100% tempranillo grown on clay, limestone and gravel based soils in vineyards 800 meters above sea level. Nurtured 12 months in French oak barrels (approx. 10% new). Clean, elegant nose with blackberry/blueberry, brushy upland herbs, lightly toasted oak, spice and a little hint of stone fruit (peach?). Viņedos Alonso del Yerro remains a personal favorite, a reliable producer vintage after vintage. [$M] |
