Wine of the Week | Estecillo Garnacha 2020 [Red] 100% garnacha, grown on nutrient poor soils in vineyards at altitudes up to nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. Fermented in steel tanks, natural yeasts, minimal intervention. Deep, dark, rich with a nice balance between the well ripened dark berry fruit and crisp red berry acidity. A touch of mountain herbs (thyme/rosemary/marjoram). The Niño Jesús co-op is in production year round starting with almonds, followed by cherries, stone fruit, grapes for wine and finally olives (olive oil) to finish up the season. [$L] |
