Wine of the Week | Finca Río Negro 992 2019 [Red] 85% tempranillo, 11% syrah, 3% merlot, 2% cabernet sauvignon grown on the winery's own vineyards, planted at 992 meters above sea level. Nurtured 7 months in a mix of American (60%) and French (40%) oak barrels. Blueberries, blackberries & plums dominate the nose, with a touch of vanilla/cinnamon and upland herbs (thyme/marjoram). Finca Río Negro is situated in Cogolludo, province of Guadalajara, some 100 kilometers from Madrid, bordering Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park. The wines are bottled as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla. [$M] |
