Wine of the Week | Dominio Los Pinos Selección 2000 [Red] While the Valencia area is known primarily for large-scale wineries and inexpensive bulk wine, Dominio Los Pinos has shown that quality wines are not just a pipe dream. Made from Monastrell and Cabernet Franc, this is a medium-bodied, fruit-drive red which will work well with a wide range of dishes. Medium dark cherry red color with a purple tint. Primary fruit aromas dominate the nose [plums, blueberry] along with a hint of herbs. Surprisingly rich and thick on the palate, with ripe plums, good acidity and excellent tannic balance. Very Good.
