Wine of the Week | El Perro Verde 2020 [White] 100% verdejo grapes grown on rocky limestone soils in vineyards around the villages of Pozaldez and Rodilana. Clean, fresh, herbaceous (grass/hay/flowers) with kiwi fruit, apricot, gooseberry and a hint of orange zest. Rueda verdejos have practically taken over the white wine by the glass market here in Spain. This wine shows why: great on its own and works well on the table with a wide range of dishes (fish, poultry, pasta and even spicy fare). [$L] |
