Wine of the Week | Casa Gualda Cencibel 2001 [Red] Made from 100% Tempranillo [known locally as Cencibel] this is an excellent example of a well made unoaked La Mancha red. Medium-bodied, rich, fresh and fruity, this is a wine that's good on its own and should work well with a wide range of dishes from pasta and rice to meat or cheese. Dark cherry red color with a purple tint. Fresh ripe fruit aromas [bluberry, blackberry] with just a hint of licorice and fresh cut hay. The palate's rich with good body, lots of ripe berry fruit and excellent length. Very good. [$L] |
