Wine of the Week | El Níspero 2019 [White] 100% albillo criollo grown on volcanic soils in the north of La Palma (Canary Islands), sustainable viticulture, temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel. Upfront aromas of the wine's namesake "níspero" (medlar, a tree grown fruit similar to the persimmon), along with peach/apricot, fresh herbs/straw, honeycomb and good dose of volcanic minerality. Eufrosina Pérez Rodríguez runs this family owned winery in the north of La Palma, and "nísperos" are an important crop on the island. [$M] |
