Wine of the Week | Alagú Forcallat 2018 [Red] 100% forcallat, stomped the old fashioned way, whole bunch fermentation (70%), malolactic fermentation in used 225 & 500 liter barrels, nurtured in both 225 and 500 liter oak barrels. Great nose: bright, fresh & fruit driven with floral notes and scents of underbrush and aromatic mountain herbs (thyme/rosemary). Forcallat aka forcallá is a little known grape variety grown in parts of La Mancha, Alicante & Murcia. After tasting this wine, it certainly shows promise. [$M] |
