Wine of the Week | Cau d’en Genis 2019 [White] 100% pansa blanca (xarel.lo) from a single vineyard on sandy granite soils close to the Mediterranean Sea. Nurtured 6 months in concrete eggs. Certified organic. Sharp/intense nose with apple, peach & grapefruit, hints of dry grass, fennel and stony/salty minerality. The vineyard's seaside location and "sauló" (sandy/granite) soils make for a wine with character and a definite sense of place. The concrete eggs gently stir the lees, bringing extra richness while avoiding unnecessary exposure to oxygen. [$M] |
