Wine of the Week | Casa Castillo 2000 [Red] Made from Monastrell [85%] and Syrah grapes grown in the southeastern region of Jumilla [Murcia] and a bit oak age [4 months], this is a potent, full-bodied red wine with character and depth. A good barbeque wine. Deep dark purple color. A bit closed in the nose, but with nicely complex aromas of ripe berry fruit, a hint of spice and a delicate flowery touch. Rich and full-bodied palate, thick and tannic with great length & depth. Excellent and a great value as well. [$L] |
