Wine of the Week | Ziríes 2014 [Red] 100% garnacha, partial whole bunch fermentation, nurtured 15 months in used 500 liter French oak barrels, organic/biodynamic. Dark in color with rich/ripe bramble berry fruit, rose petals, brushy upland herbs ("garrigue") plus a touch of black pepper and minerals. A small scale operation (around 8,000 bottles/year) in the province of Toldedo, close to the Montes de Toledo natural reserve. Terroir/vineyard focus, organically certified since 2012. Bottled under the Vinos de España denomination. [$M] |
