Wine of the Week | Gran Bierzo El Culebral 2018 [Red] A single vineyard selection: 80% mencía, 20% palomino, two months resting in concrete tanks, 12 months in bottle before release. Organically grown grapes, vines 30-60 years old. In the beginning there was fruit, lots of fruit: blackberry, raspberry, plums, red currants and a hint of smoke. An interesting wine, a field blend of red & white grapes from a heritage vineyard, fermented in bare concrete tanks. [$M] |
