Wine of the Week | José Pariente Verdejo 2019 [White] 100% verdejo grapes, primarily from 30 year old vineyards, plus grapes from older vines. Fermented in a mix of stainless steel and wooden vats, finally steeped on the lees for 4 months before bottling. Fruit & grassy/minty aromas predominate: kiwi, apricot, tarragon, lemongrass, lime/grapefruit and a touch of stony minerality. This basic Rueda Verdejo shows why José Pariente rates as one of Rueda's top producers. This is an excellent all purpose white wine that drinks well on its own, and pairs nicely with a broad range of dishes. [$M] |
