Wine of the Week | Minius Mencía 2019 [Red] 100% mencía grapes, gently crushed, temperature controlled fermentation, malolactic in stainless steel. Great nose, clean and all about fruit: blackberry, cherry, red currants. There are also some grassy/herbal notes (thyme, forest ferns) and a hint of minerals. Have enjoyed their godello-based white wine in the past, but this is a first look at the Minius Mencía. Both are quite enjoyable. [$M] |
