Wine of the Week | Viņa Arana Gran Reserva 2014 [Red] Tempranillo 94%, graciano 6%, nurtured in used oak barrels for 3 years (average age of the barrels: 4 1/2 years), bottled June 2018. Fruit in the forefront (blueberry/blackberry/plum) - a nice blend of fresh & well ripened fruit, there's spice (clove/cardamom) with hint of vanilla, coffee & dark chocolate. Complex. Elegant. In the past, Viņa Arana carried a "Reserva" designation, now upgraded to "Gran Reserva". Enjoyed this bottle with the family & a plateful of "gazpachos manchegos". [$H] |
