Wine of the Week | Finca Moncloa 2016 [Red] A blend of syrah (58%), cabernet sauvignon (18%), tintilla (18%), merlot (1%) & tempranillo (1%). Nurtured 12 months in French & American oak barrels, bottled April 2017. Region: IGP Cádiz. Tintilla (or tintilla de Rota) is known as graciano in Rioja. Nice bright color, fresh red berry fruit (cherry/gooseberry), a hint of spice (nutmeg/cinnamon) and a touch floral. Enjoyed this at Sacha, an excellent Madrid restaurant with amazing food and a useful wine list. [$M] |
