Wine of the Week | Áster Finca El Otero 2016 [Red] Single vineyard, 100% tempranillo, cold pre-ferment, malolactic in new French barrels, aged 16 months in French oak. Bottled May 2018. Dark berry fruit (blue/black) & chocolate truffle up front, in the background: fennel, nutmeg, cedar, autumn leaves, ripe plums... Deep, satisfying, complex. Good wine's all about pleasure and this one delivers. A wine that less experienced drinkers will savor, and with the depth & complexity all types of wine lovers will enjoy. Love that fruit/chocolate touch. A keeper. [$H] |
